Sick on a Weekend

I think being ill on a weekend is one of the worst-possible things to happen. Weekends are when I run all my errands, get tons of things done and have my best workouts. But it doesn’t look like anything is going to get done today. I have a terrible sore throat, and I’m extremely congested.

I missed day 4 of the 30-day challenge. Paul had a basketball game last night, but I was too embarassed to snap any photos. So here’s my photo from last night:

Tea!

Chamomile is my favorite tea, and it’s one of the only things that helps my throat feel better. I drank a ton of it yesterday. Here are some of my eats from Friday:

Breakfast on March 4

I had an english muffin with a couple smears of Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter. Wow, that PB was seriously delicious. But my love for cinnamon won out, and I still think the Cinnamon Raisin PB was better.

Main lunch meal on March 5

There’s a ton of random things in this lunch. I started with quinoa and black beans. Then I added cherry tomatoes and red bell pepper. I also added a couple green olives, and finally topped it all of with some salsa and hummus. Lots of very different tastes, but one fiber-filled meals.

Peach Chobani!

I’m really starting to enjoy Chobani’s fruit-flavored yogurt. The dark cherry was bomb, and peach was also tasty.

Now, I’m going to make this day 5 challenge quick so I can get back to resting. We’ve got a busy night, and I’m still debating whether or not I feel well enough to go volunteer for another AHEPA Marrow Basketball Tournament event.

Day 5 – A picture of your favorite memory

My 21st Birthday

Prom - May 2006

This was before Paul and I dated. I stayed up the entire night of prom! We rented villas in Wisconsin and pretty much partied all day and night! It was amazing. Don’t judge the earrings + the hoodie!

Lollapalooza 2006

Lollapalooza was the most fun I’ve ever ever ever had. We got there around 11 a.m. and left about 12 hours later. We saw tons of amazing concerts, including my favorite band of all-time: the Red Hot Chili Peppers!!!

Now I’m off to attempt a mini-elliptical session. Wish me luck! I’m seriously praying I feel better in time for the tournament, which starts on Wednesday. I’m going to have to be running around between all the sites, and being sick would make things a million times more stressful.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

What do you drink when you have  sore throat? What’s your favorite memory? Favorite peanut butter flavor?

I love chamomile tea too!! It makes me sleep like a baby.

I usually drink lots of cold drinks like cold water and tea when my throat is sore, I know that’s the opposite of most people, but a doctor once told me that cold drinks actually kind of numb your throat and temporarily reduce the soreness, so I have done that ever since, it works!

Sorry to hear you’re feeling yucky, feel better soon! 🙂
