2 Greek Yogurt Dips

Last night’s girls night rocked! I brought over two yummy dips with fruit and veggies, and my other friend brought a ton of different cheeses and crackers. Sometimes snacking is so much better than a real meal! We started with three episodes of The Vampire Diaries. That show is seriously addicting. It’s not the best show ever, but everyone is just so good-looking it’s impossible not to get sucked in!

We also looked at our yearbooks from 6th and 7th grade. All three of us were best friends then, and it was hilarious to read the things we wrote to each other. Just the fact that I started my piece like this kills me:

Wazzzzzzzup?!?

Sometimes I really do miss 1999. Speaking of that amazing decade, we also watched the most memorable episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? If you don’t remember this episode, then you were not a true fan…just kidding…but seriously. πŸ˜‰

Remember the one where the kid gets stuck in the pinball machine? I think the reason why most people I know still remember this episode is the fact that things didn’t go back to normal in the end. Even though most of the episodes are pretty freaky, usually the main character turns out safe and sound. Not here. The poor kid is actually stuck in the game and has to replay it for the rest of his life. So creepy!

We also watched some of Dave Chappelle’s stand up. I think he is by far the funniest stand-up comedian! Have you ever seen his racial draft? Pure gold right there.

Anyway, here are the two recipes I used for my girls night dips. The sweet one was definitely better than the other one. I think I should have used more dill and garlic.

Healthy Yogurt Dip

Healthy Greek Yogurt and Dill Dip
Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. nonfat plain Greek yogurt (I used Fage)
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. dill
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbs. lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate before serving. Serve with chopped up vegetables, such as zucchini, bell peppers or carrots.

Yogurt and PB Dip

Greek Yogurt and Peanut Butter Dip:

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. nonfat plain Greek yogurt (I used Fage)
  • 3 Tbs. creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 Tbs. honey
  • 1/8 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and refrigerate before serving. Serve with fruit slices, such as apple and pear.

Did you watch Are You Afraid of the Dark as a kid? What’s your favorite dip? Have you ever tried making a dip with Greek yogurt?
